Oral and Maxillofacial
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the surgical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the mouth, jaws, face and neck.
An Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon is qualified in both dentistry (BDS) and medicine (MBChB), they subsequently undergo 1-2 years of general surgical training and 3-4 years of advanced specialist surgical training, and may complete a post graduate degree during this time (MDS(OMS)). On completion of training, they undergo their final fellowship examinations (FRACDS(OMS)).

- Surgical procedures in the mouth including biopsies, removal of teeth, bone grafts

- Craniofacial Implants for support of ear, nose & eye prostheses

Orthognathic Surgery / Corrective Jaw Surgery
- Correcting misaligned jaws and teeth
- Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
- Facial Implants to correct facial asymmetry / deformity
Oral Medicine and Oral Mucosal Disorders
- Oral lesions, ulcers, growths, changes in colour
Salivary Gland disorders
- Obstruction, tumours and infections
Facial Trauma
- Revision of facial bone fractures, implant reconstruction and scar revision
